If you have a hankering for a granola bar and can't decide between the wholesome goodness of a classic Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bar and the equally classic sweet gooey goodness Quaker Chewy Granola Bar, you may want to try a Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix Fruit & Nut Bar. These yummy granola bars combine the sweet gooey honey flavors of a chewy granola bar and the big nutty textures of a Nature Valley Granola Bar.

These bad boys are a perfect on-the-go snack. They are hearty and contain whole almonds and peanuts alongside a generous portions of raisins and cranberries.  Want to learn more about this delicious snack?

If you are the type of person who only eats organic "live" foods, than you may be wondering if the Raw Revolution Organic Live Food Bars are for you. My answer to this question is, drum roll please...

I tried the chocolate & cashew variety of this organic-- energy bar like-- snack and found it to be just okay. When you first rip open these bars you will notice a brown nutty mushy substance formed into an energy bar-like mold. The texture is like a super thick brownie.

But, if you are looking for a chocolatey snack, this probably isn't for you. There isn't very much of a chocolate flavor, or much of any flavor at all. The strongest flavor coming from these bad boys is an unexpected fruitiness.

On the other hand, these don't taste bad and they do satisfy your hunger without causing much guilt.

I’ve had a lot of hundred-calorie snack packs, but none of them really seem to satisfy my manly hunger. Most of them were really dry and in order to get any sort of snacking satisfaction out of these tiny packets of snackables, I needed to eat about 8 packs.

The most recent hundred-calorie snack I tried was the Fudge Grahams 100 calorie Right Bites from Keebler. These were way different than any other hundred-calorie snack pack I’ve ever had. What makes them different is there is a massive amount of tasty chocolate on these, not just a dry sprinkling of brown pseudo-chocolate.

Since this chocolate awesomeness is coupled with a classic graham cracker cookie, you get a party in your mouth similar to a campfire smore. The other difference between these cookies and other 100-calorie snack packs is I eat 17 packs of these instead of only 8.

So, after consuming 1700 calories worth of Keebler Fudge Grahams, I think I need a song.

Sing along with me!

If you haven't partaken in some of the offerings in Trader Joe's snack aisle, you are a complete buffoon. I myself was a complete buffoon up until about a month ago.

One of the more interesting items to snack on at Joe's is a twist on a classic twisted snack, Cheetos! Baked Jalapeño Cheese Crunchies are a Cheeto like snack that has a few advantages over the traditional mix of fried puffed something and orange powder stuff.

My favorite part about this snack is that they have a white cheese powder on them instead of orange. This means that you won't have those horrible orange fingers (I wonder how many books have been ruined by Cheeto fingers).

My second favorite thing about these is they taste really good. They aren't quite as greasy as normal Cheetos and the littles snacks have a delightfully spicy jalapeño kick.

Last but not least, these little crunchy delights have 33% less fat than regular Cheetos! That means they're good for me, right?

No More Cheeto Fingers!

If you, like the beach boys, are tired of cruising up and down the same old strip I have a recommendation for you: Hop on Route 1 and find a new candy bar at a place that is becoming more and more hip everyday- ALDI!

At Aldi you will find a tiny candy bar named “Route 1 Jive.” The candy bar itself is pretty much like a Twix except it has a little bit more caramel and a little less of the crunchy cookie center. Overall the candy bar isn't very interesting.

What I did find interesting about the “Route 1 Jive” was its name. Did a bunch of Germans (ALDI is a German company) name this candy bar after jive the dialect or jive the form of dancing popular in the 1940s?

In order to get to the bottom of this, I decided to conduct a formal market research study.

The white paper containing the results of this study is below.

Route 1 Jive, Market Research Study

To determine whether ALDI’s Route 1 Jive candy bars are named after a dialect or a form of dancing.
STEP 1: I ate a Route 1 Jive candy bar while watching a video of two individuals speaking in the jive dialect.

STEP 2: I recorded my overall enjoyment of the candy bar.

STEP 3: I ate a second Route 1 Jive candy bar while watching Julianne and Derek Hough dancing the jive.

STEP 4: I recorded my overall enjoyment of the second candy bar.

ALDI’s Route 1 Jive candy bar is named after a dialect.
